The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. The Kindermusik programme is divided into age ranges, enabling us to follow a curriculum which allows us to focus on activities that are developmentally appropriate for your child. Class activities include lots of singing, circle dancing, partner work, story time, movement, quiet time, focused listening, instrument exploration, finger rhymes and action songs. These activities follow a clear class structure, which plenty of opportunities for the child to lead the lesson with imaginative input, and includes a ‘hello’ song, a ‘goodbye’ song, Foundations of Learning statements helping to highlight the educational basis behind the different activities as we go along, as well as suggested home activities for the time between classes in conjunction with the provided home materials.
